Happy New Year from the Greenfield IT Recruitment team! Every year since I can remember I have always made it a tradition of mine to scope out the industry I am working within and to investigate the estimated trends for the year. 

This time last year I was still working in retail, it’s amazing how much can change in that time! I can honestly say it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.  

Predicted Trends for 2023

I am by no means a seasoned IT Recruitment professional just yet, but I have pulled together some research around the predicted trends of 2023 in the IT Recruitment space and how they may shape the industry this year: 

  1. Remote work should continue to be a major trend in the IT recruitment industry even after a small shift towards on-site working towards the end of 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic should still continue to push companies to adopt remote work policies, it is likely that many companies will continue to hire IT professionals who are comfortable working remotely. This means that geographical location will be less of a barrier for IT professionals looking for new job opportunities. 
  2. The demand for cybersecurity professionals should continue to grow. With the increasing number of cyber threats and data breaches, companies are prioritising the protection of their systems and data. This means that there will be a high demand for IT professionals with expertise in cybersecurity. 
  3. Artificial intelligence and machine learning is continuing to increase in demand. These technologies are becoming more prevalent in a variety of industries, and companies are looking for IT professionals with expertise in these areas. 
  4. There is expected to be a focus on diversity and inclusion in the IT recruitment industry. Companies have started to become more aware of the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and are looking to hire IT professionals from a variety of backgrounds. 

Conclusion

Overall, the IT recruitment industry is expected to continue to grow and evolve in 2023, with a focus on remote work, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and machine learning, diversity and inclusion. I am really excited to see what 2023 brings and I am hoping for a prosperous year for both myself, my colleagues and all my friends within my network!
